Please Note: Trash disposal site is for the use of Town of Burns residents / taxpayers ONLY - not relatives or friends from outside the township. Do not risk losing your disposal privileges. ​

Recycling
Is placed in the dumpster behind the compactor. No bagged items are allowed; empty all bags.

#1 , #2, #4, and #5 plastics, glass, tin and aluminum cans should be kept separate from the rest of the trash. Wash or rinse them out, remove the labels, and put them in a separate container.

The Striped Strivers 4-H Club collects aluminum cans as a fundraiser. Please bag them separately and place in their storage bin behind the Attendant's Office.

Newspapers are collected for recycling in a separate bin.

E-Waste (Electronic-Waste)
Is placed in the dumpster along the back fence. You must pay the attendant prior to disposing. ​

Yard Waste
Currently the township does not have a program for yard wastes and suggests that you compost your leaves and grass clippings on your property.

Used Tires

Tires must be removed from rims prior to being accepted. Tires may also be recycled at La Crosse County's Household Hazardous Waste facility.

Other Materials
The town accepts small quantities of private demolition materials, furniture, carpeting, silo bags, and other household items only until that large dumpster is full.
